Serena Williams joins board of a reselling platform

Serena Williams keeps being very active off the court and she has now been included on the online social retail and reselling platform, Poshmark. Williams became the first woman to join the board. She also works for SurveyMonkey.

In a press release, Manish Chandra, founder & CEO of Poshmark, said: “Poshmark was built by a community of strong, independent women just like Serena Williams. As both our company and community continue to grow, it’s important that we bring smart and diverse new voices to the table, and we couldn’t be more thrilled about what the future holds with Serena in our corner.”

Williams said: “Poshmark is disrupting retail by making shopping and selling social again, and I love working with a company that gives anyone an opportunity to become an entrepreneur. For me, it was a no-brainer."

Serena will attend the Watermark Conference for Women Silicon Valley alongside the political activist Gloria Steinem and the researcher Brené Brown. In a press conference, Steinem commented on the expectations that gender women still have to face: "Sometimes I believe the world is divided into two kinds of people. Serena will play her next tournament at the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells in March
