Roger Federer recalls when he hit with Marin Cilic at the Maldives

In an interview Roger Federer recalled when he hit with Marin Cilic in late November 2017 during holidays at the Maldives. It was a very unusual and funny experience. “I didn't want to bother him. He didn't want to bother me. After two days, he wrote me: ‘I'm here, too, in case you want to catch up and stuff, let me know’. It was great fun. No coaches, no nothing, just the two of us on the court hitting balls,” Federer said. “It was just nice and laid back, to get to know the man behind the tennis player.”
Cilic will make his first appearance at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championship since 2010. The Executive Vice Chairman and CEO of Dubai Duty Free Colm McLoughlin looks forward to have the Croat back. “Marin Cilic has enjoyed a long and successful career at the very highest level of the game, and we are delighted to see him back in Dubai,” said McLoughlin.
The Tournament Director Salah Tahlak said: “He has enjoyed enormous success and has been ranked in the top 10 continuously since October 2016, a fantastic achievement. Clearly he will be one to watch during what is certain to be a terrific week of top-class tennis.”
Cilic withdrew from the Rotterdam Open due to a knee injury and through his official Instagram account he said he will try to recover in time for the Dubai Open. Cilic also withdrew from the Pune Open ahead of the Australian Open last month
