'Tennis keeps being a priority for Federer' - Toni Nadal praises Roger
In an interview with El Mundo, Rafael Nadal's uncle Toni praised the older guys' dominance and longevity. Toni believes there are several reasons why they keep dominating. "Nadal, Murray, Federer, Djokovic and some others, like David Ferrer, were people very involved in their job and with an enormous ability to make sacrifices. For Federer, despite his age and all that he won, the tennis keeps being a priority. The same happens with Rafa, despite all his injuries. You always had very good players, but this generation may have been more committed. If we look, Nadal, Djokovic and Federer won 47 Grand Slam titles combined (52). If we take as an example the generation of Connors, Borg and McEnroe, which was very brilliant too, they won just 26", said Toni.
Five pieces of advice to educate a kid: "The first is essential that parents have a sense of self-criticism; second, respecting the place of each one. Third, avoid to think that the priority is always the children and that you have to give them all that they ask; fourth, make them understand the need that they do not just do just what they like, but that they like what they do. You have to make the kid get an effort to achieve what he wants."
Asked if Spain and Catalunya should be together, Toni replied: "I personally feel that Catalunya is a part of Spain. I feel very Mallorcan and Balearic, but much Spanish too. We share a common history and I do not understand that someone does not want it to be this way."
