Daniil Medvedev: 'I have weaknesses but my opponents don't understand it!'
Daniil Medvedev spoke about his strange and unusual game which makes him win a lot of matches. The Russian said: "What should my opponent do to beat me? I don't know. If I played against myself, at some point I would start making errors, not understanding how you can play. I have some weaknesses, but if you ask them, they will have to think for at least five minutes, look at statistics. They really struggle in understanding them. All the results I had over the last two months were the result of the confidence I gained. Montreal and Cincinnati are the result of Washington, and US Open is the result of all them. Today in some important moments I was probably more confident than Evgeny Donskoy, which had an influence. The match was balanced but I won in straight sets."
On his schedule for the rest of the season, Medvedev added: "I committed to play two important Chinese events, Beijing and Shanghai. Moscow is a special tournament in my city. I am also committed to Vienna, Paris and ATP Finals. I have to see how my body reacts. If it's all good, I will try to play all the tournaments. If I feel tired, I will have to change something."
Asked about what he takes, Medvedev replied: "I like cold tea a lot. But I would not be able to live without ice. I also love dessert a lot."
