Daniil Medvedev: 'I would like to be coached by Sampras, Agassi or Safin!'
In an interview Daniil Medvedev was asked who he would like to be coached by if he could pick one of the legends. The Moscow native said: "A too big question. Sampras, Agassi, Safin. I would not be able to make a choice. But it needs to be a person who fits to me."
"I am very much looking forward to this match. After a couple of months where I did not play well and I was injured. Winning those difficult matches boosted my conference. I am very happy with reaching the final. I am also happy for how I played so far, especially today: I have delivered my best tennis since the French Open. The final should be interesting against Medvedev, he got unbelievable results this summer, he does not only play a good tennis but an unbelievable one. I saw the US Open final against Rafael Nadal. He will be the favorite and i have nothing to lose. Coming here I did not know what to expect but I played very good matches."
Medvedev enjoys competing in front of his home crowd: "I was very happy with my results in America, but I am also very happy to be back to Europe, in a normal and familiar environment, I am particularly happy to be back to Russia in St. Petersburg. I could say I am very tired, everything hurts and I do not come here but I love this tournament, I always try to play here. It's my fourth consecutive year. I have only good things to say, so I am very happy to be in Russia and in St. Petersburg."
