Richard Mille to become official time keeping sponsor of Rafa Nadal Academy Kuwait

World No. 2 Rafael Nadal, of Spain, has been a long-time brand ambassador of the luxury watch maker Richard Mille and the two have now taken another step in their partnership.

As per a tweet from Richard Mille, the luxury watchmaker will now become the official time keeping sponsor at the Rafa Nadal academy in Kuwait. This is the second location of the Rafa Nadal academy after the one he opened in his native Spain.

The tweet says, "Rafael Nadal is one of Richard Mille’s longest-standing partners and we are proud to announce them as our official time keeping Sponsor at the Rafa Nadal Academy Kuwait.” What they probably mean is that Richard Mille will be the official time keeping sponsor of the  Rafa Nadal Academy Kuwait.

Rafael Nadal is usually seen wearing a Richard Mille watch during his matches. At the French Open 2018 that Nadal  won, he wore a $725,000 Richard Mille watch. It is the RM-27-03 by Mille and Nadal has been their brand ambassador since 2008.

Nadal has already withdrawn from the Western & Southern Open and US Open in New York due to the current pandemic. He has said he is not comfortable traveling during the current crisis and prefers to stay in Spain. He has also said he will take a call about the clay court events in Europe closer to time but he has been practicing on clay in recent weeks at his academy in Spain. So it remains to be seen when he would be back on the courts with his Richard Mille watch.

Rafael Nadal is currently ranked world No. 2 in singles. He has won 19 Grand Slam singles titles, the second-most in history for a male player, behind Roger Federer, who has won 20 Grand Slam singles titles.  He has also won a record 35 ATP Tour Masters 1000 titles, 21 ATP Tour 500 titles and the 2008 Olympic gold medal in singles.Nadal has held the world No. 1 ranking for a total of 209 weeks. His 19 Grand Slam titles include a record twelve French Open titles, four US Open titles, two Wimbledon titles and one Australian Open title. Nadal has been part of the Spanish Davis Cup winning team on five occasions.
