Top French junior Diane Parry trains at the Ferrer Tennis Academy

Tennis - 17 year old French tennis junior Diane Parry recently visited the Ferrer Tennis Academy with her trainer.

World No. 2 junior Diane Perry trains at the Ferrer Tennis Academy

The world no. 2 junior Parry trained at the facilities of the Ferrer Tennis Academy. She was accompanied by her trainer Gonzalo Lopez. 

Ferrer's academy was grateful for her visit and posted an update on social media, where she said, "Thank you for the visit Diane Parry and Gonzalo Lopez"

Parry made her WTA Tour doubles debut at the 2017 French Open with the help of a wild card, partnering Giulia Morlet, where they lost in the first round.

She made her WTA Tour singles debut at the 2018 French Open, entering the qualifying event as a wild card, where she upset fifth seeded Jana Fett in the first round before losing to Rebecca Šramková in the second round.

Parry plays with a one-handed backhand and many have compared her style of play to that of former French World No. 1 Amélie Mauresmo.

Diane Parry is currently ranked No. 299 in the world in singles and No. 277 in doubles. In the juniors, she was ranked No. 1 in October last year and is currently ranked No. 2. 

She reached the semi-finals of the Wimbledon junior event in 2019 and was named ITF Junior World Champion for 2019. She also won the ITF World Tennis Tour Junior Finals in Chengdu last year.

Parry lost in the first round of the US Open to Kristyna Pliskova but impressed many with her performance there. She also reached the second round of the French Open, going down to Belgian Elise Mertens.

Ferrer Tennis Academy is in Jávea, at the Jávea Tennis Club, and is managed by Javier Ferrer Ern, one of the current directors of the academy and brother of retired tennis star David Ferrer.

David Ferrer is a former World No. 3 ranked player from Spain. He holds the distinction of winning the most matches on the ATP tour among players who have not won a Grand Slam tournament, passing Brian Gottfried who held the  record for 32 years. He is considered among the best players not to have won a Grand Slam tournament. He won 27 ATP singles titles and 2 ATP doubles titles in his career. He retired from the game in 2019 after the Madrid Masters.
