Novak Djokovic has been the dominant face in men's tennis since 2011, winning 19 Major titles to match Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal at the top of the list. Delivering consistent tennis on every surface, Novak has won over half of all Major events since Wimbledon 2014 and eight of the last 12 to become the third player with 20 most precious titles on his tally. Unlike Nadal and Federer, who have been dealing with injuries, Novak is still at the top of his game at 34, winning all three Major titles so far in 2021 and keeping the ATP throne ahead of Daniil Medvedev, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Alexander Zverev. Djokovic will seek an ultimate history, trying to become the first player since Rod Laver in 1969 with a calendar Grand Slam and the sole leader with 21 Major crowns. Tim Henman has no doubts about Djokovic's chances, backing the Serb to beat the rivals and pressure and achieve something that has stayed without anyone's reach for over 50 years!

Novak has endured every tough situation at Majors this year, dealing with an abdominal injury since the third round at the Australian Open and finding himself two sets to love down not once but twice at Roland Garros. Acting like a man on the mission, Djokovic overcame all the challenges to claim three Major trophies in 2021 and travel to New York as a potential history maker. Novak has not played since the Tokyo Olympics setback, skipping Toronto and Cincinnati and preparing for the season's last Major in Montenegro and Marbella in the previous weeks. On Monday, Djokovic practiced in New York, shaping his game ahead of one of the most important tournaments of his glorious career. 

"There's no doubt that Djokovic is the clear favorite at the US Open. His form at Majors has been incredible, and it speaks for itself. To play so well on hard, clay and grass really emphasizes what a complete player he is. When I reflect on his chances to complete all four Majors within the season, I think it's Djokovic against the field and history. As a student of the game, there's no doubt that he's very aware of what's on the line, so it will be interesting to see how he deals with the opposition on the other side of the net and internally because it's a massive opportunity. I think it's going to make it a fascinating fortnight," Tim Henman said.
