Novak Djokovic feels tested by Rafael Nadal's great performances - Corretja

The former world no. 2 Alex Corretja believes that the stunning form that Rafael Nadal has shown so far at the Australian Open is an extra motivation for Novak Djokovic. The Serb dropped off two sets so far - against Daniil Medvedev and Denis Shapovalov - but he is in the quarter-finals. Analyzing Novak's win over Medvedev, Corretja said: 'The difference for me was the forehand, Novak opened more angles, maybe the serve a little bit more accurate. Watching the way Rafa is playing I think he is a little bit tested, he needs to play a little bit better than he expects, rather than go step by step. Both of them know that they are gonna play at their best when they face on Sunday.'

Corretja also spoke about the on-court coaching, disagreeing with Patrick Mouratoglou who would like it to become legal: 'I love Patrick, he does an unbelievable job on court with Serena, but I do not like to see the coach sitting on the bench. I think you have to find your own solution. What I would like to see is the coach talking a little bit from the bench. If he does that, it should not be a coaching. Because the umpire should not be like a police. He should be like "Oh you can say C'mon, keep on aggressive". It's not a big deal.'

Djokovic will face the world no. 9 and the eighth seed Kei Nishikori in the quarter-final on Wednesday.
