Alexander Zverev reflects on Davis Cup win over Peter Nagy
German tennis superstar Alexander Zverev was happy with his Davis Cup performance against Hungary's Peter Nagy as he lost just four games 6-2 6-2 in an hour and nine minutes of action.
Zverev, ranked at No. 3 in the world, controlled the match from the beginning until the end as he broke 500th-ranked Nagy twice in each set on his way to securing a comfortable win and giving Germany a 2-0 lead over Hungary.
The 21-year-old's serve clicked great as he hit 11 aces, won 84 percent of his first serve points and faced no break point chances during the match.
It wasn't the first-ever meeting between the two as 26-year-old Nagy beat Zverev at a Futures event in 2013.
"I think I served pretty well, obviously, kept my focus well. Davis Cup is always different, there are always tough matches even when opponents aren't ranked that high, and to be my focus to really push from the start and it all worked out well," Zverev said of his performance post-match, per the Davis Cup website.
Germany are hosting Hungary on an indoor-clay surface in Frankfurt.
"I don't play a lot here in Germany so it's nice to come here and play," Zverev claimed, per Davis Cup Twitter.
