Clement explains key differences between Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal
The former French players Arnaud Clement, Florent Serra and Nicolas Escude commented on the differences between Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal on hard courts. The Serb dominated the Spaniard in a straight-set Australian Open final last month and leads the head to head meetings 28-25 against Nadal.
Arnaud Clément said: "Djokovic is able to exchange balls at a rhythm with which, in my opinion, Rafa cannot."
Serra said: "The use of angles by Djokovic on hard court ... blocks Nadal's game because it forces him to hit the ball almost unprepared..."
Escude concluded: "The change in the game of Nadal, which is flatter and with less pumped trajectories, is a delight for Djokovic."
Mikaela Shiffrin instead feels a lot of admiration for Roger Federer. The American skier met the Swiss during last year's Laver Cup in Chicago and in an interview as quoted by Blick Shiffrin said: "He told me that I need to take my time to celebrate my results and enjoy moments with my family and friends. I took that suggestion at heart."
