Even without Alexander Zverev, Germany has strong Davis Cup team - Massu

The Chilean Davis Cup team captain Nicolas Massu expects a tough Davis Cup finals in Madrid in November. Massu said: "It's a pride to be among the 18 best teams of the world, it's a great hope to participate in the Davis Cup. All the rivals are there because they deserve to be, like us. We will try to come prepared as much as possible, hopefully, the players will be healthy and confident."

About the rivals in the group stage, Massu added: "We know Argentina, last year we faced them in San Juan in a very close tie where we won the fifth decisive point. We know the players, they spend a lot of time on the tour and it will be a very difficult tie for both. The two teams will try to triumph. Germany has great players too. Regardless if Alexander Zverev plays or not, they have a very good and complete team."

Massu only wants his players to compete at their best level: "We have to face the opponents whoever they are, all of them are at a high level and we will try to do as best as possible. We want to enjoy this nice experience and represent Chile in the best way."

Angel Garrido, General Coordinator of the Mayor, added: “It is an honour for Madrid to host this new format that will attract tourists and we are ready to host them with success. In Madrid, we support these big events as well as participation in sport at every level.”
