Karen Khachanov joins Roger Federer in Rolex family

On his official Instagram account, Karen Khachanov announced he has become an ambassador for Rolex  The Russian player is one of the latest additions to endorse Rolex along with Stefanos Tsitsipas and Kyle Edmund. Both the Greek and the Briton signed a deal with the Swiss watchmaker last year. "Today is an exciting chapter in my life. I am very honoured to announce my partnership with @rolex. I am looking forward to being part of this family which has a long tradition of excellence," wrote Khachanov, who achieved a career-high ranking at no. 11 last year after winning his maiden Masters 1000 title at the Rolex Paris Masters.

He played the Sofia Open in Bulgaria last week where he lost in the second round to Matteo Berrettini in three sets. At the Australian Open, he lost in the third round to Roberto Bautista Agut while in his season-opener in Doha, he lost in the first round to Stan Wawrinka. He, however, won both his singles rubbers in the Davis Cup Qualifiers' tie between Russia and Switzerland to help Russia reach the Davis Cup Finals in Madrid, to be played in November.

Khachanov is playing at the ABN Amro Open in Rotterdam this week. The Russian is the second seed in the event, behind Kei Nishikori's top-seed. He will play Dutch wildcard Tallon Griekspoor in the first round on Monday.
