Naomi Osaka's unusual reaction to reporter asking her to speak in Japanese

Naomi Osaka just won her second Grand Slam title in a row defeating Petra Kvitova in a three-set Australian Open. During an interview on Sunday in Melbourne after having a photoshoot with the trophy on the beach, Osaka was asked to speak in her country's language, Japanese. “Yesterday’s match, against Petra Kvitova, a left-handed player, must’ve been difficult to counter. Could you tell us, in Japanese, how difficult it was to deal with? Just one word about how you felt", a reporter asked.

Osaka refused to speak in Japanese and she added: “I’m going to say it in English.”

She raises some criticism recently as Osaka mostly lives in the United States and wears sunglasses when she walks on streets in Japan in order not to be recognized by people.
