Roger Federer: 'I missed everything about Switzerland in recent times'
After his Australian Open loss to Stefanos Tsitsipas, Roger Federer stayed over the world on holidays in an unknown place and then he cameback to Switzerland, Europe, where he will stay for a few more weeks. "We were on holidays for a little less than two weeks and now we enjoy just a few days in Switzerland. I am looking forward to the raclette, cheese and stuff. I missed everything. From July I was briefly here for the Swiss Indoors. At the same time, the preparation for Dubai starts. Then I go to Indian Wells and Miami. And then they clay-court season starts, that's why I needed a break", said Federer in Geneva.
He appreciated the beauty of Geneva: "During a few hours I saw the city that I do not know so well on all sides: I am came from the mountains by air flights, took the boat through Lac Leman, hit some balls on Vedi lake and then I went to the Palais Eynard."
He finally commented on the Laver Cup: "The best players in the world with a common goal - great! Rafa Nadal coming back, I am very happy. He is very friendly and he has no particular requests. However, I would like Stan Wawrinka to join us in his native ground. But after his injury I do not want to put pressure on him. It needs to come from itself. If he does not play, then I understand. Our captain Bjorn Borg will definitely put in the best possible team. Defending the title again will not be easy."
