Djokovic and Nadal' absences may have motivated Roger Federer - Pundit

Daniela Hantuchova believes Roger Federer can go all the way in Miami: "It is a completely different Roger to what we saw a couple of days ago when he was really struggling with the pace of the court. It feels like he is getting really comfortable out there. Maybe the fact that Novak is out of the tournament and Rafa Nadal is not playing, it gives him a little bit of extra motivation to go all the way. Because he has another great opportunity to get title 101", said Hantuchova.

The Slovakian also commented on Rafael Nadal's Miami Open withdrawal: "I just want to point out something that I was not aware of, that Rafa Nadal has never won this tournament. That’s very unusual. Given the conditions that it is slow, bounces high and it is also windy. That was a big surprise for me.”

On Novak Djokovic's loss to Roberto Bautista Agut, Volandri added: "We saw him being nervous even after he won the first set 6-1 against Bautista Agut. He did not take advantages, he had seven or six break points in the second set and he wasted them. He usually takes more chances than everybody."

The former top ten player Flavia Pennetta added: "These tournaments are particular, every year they give some emotions and feature new players. They last a month, there is a lot of time in between Indian Wells and Miami. Players who won the Australian Open may not be ready to travel again over a short time and the season lasts from January to November if you play the Davis Cup final and ATP Finals, so it's not easy to have the same intensity and strength on court. It is probably happening to Djokovic. Last year from the Rome Open onwards he was like a different player, and then from Wimbledon he peaked."
