Stuttgart comeback might happen too soon, says Maria Sharapova

Maria Sharapova had a question and ask session with her fans on her Instagram account. The Russian player is recovering from a small shoulder procedure that is forcing her to skip both Indian Wells and Miami tournaments. She got a wild card to play the Stuttgart Open that starts on 22th of April on clay, but her appearance seems in danger. "Doing my best to be ready for it", wrote Sharapova. "But it might be too soon." Her comeback could then happen in Madrid or Rome prior to the French Open. Sharapova last competed in an official match at the St. Petersburg Ladies Trophy in late January.

She loves Australia and she would like to visit more of it in the future: "I really enjoyed Melbourne this year. Haven't made it to Sydney yet."

Asked who she prefers, John McEnroe or Bjorn Borg, Sharapova replied: "Bjorn. Only because he makes great men's underwear."

Asked when the new Sugarpova candies will be out, the five-time Grand Slam winner replied: "I am so excited for our new natural gummies."

Sharapova enjoyed a Sunday off. What did she do? "A hike. Food. Maybe cards against humanity tonight."

About Sharapova, the former player Anna Chakvetadze said: "It looks like the surgery was not that serious. But Masha still had a meaningful break during her injuries. Athletes do not usually like to undergo surgery. But if it helps, you need to do it. This year Andy Murray underwent a surgery.
