Federer, Nadal, Djokovic may leave room for others soon - Tennis coach

Can Christian Garin compete against Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal? The Chilean player just won his maiden career-title in Houston last week on clay and his coach Schneiter feels confident about his future. "I think so", he told ESPN. "We have to face them and hopefully in the first match, he plays the way he is doing. I have no doubt that if he does, he can beat those players. We have to live these situations to see how we are playing in every time but I am excited by playing against all of them. I do not think that Christian is at the same level as others now. You may compare him to Nadal if you want to compare to a top player. But Christian is a bit more aggressive player, he goes to the net. Now he is solid on all aspects and he is also physically ready to play long matches."

"Christian is close to being a seed in a Grand Slam event, it gives you a better perspective because it's not easy to start the first round against Djokovic. Sometimes the draw looks in a different way and it's nice."

On the next generation potentially overtaking the older guys, he concluded: "Tennis is going through a change. This is what we always speak about with Christian, that a time where he can be there will come. You can have a big change and the top guys may leave some room for others. So you have to be careful, keep training. This week in Monte Carlo there are matches that Christian can easily win. And you are in a Masters 1000, where it brings you to face a world No. 25. So we are not far away."
