Flavia Pennetta explains Fabio Fognini's bad momentum
Flavia Pennetta will be the main face for Eurosport Italy at the French Open. The 2015 US Open winner will work for the European TV channel as a commentator and analyst, and she will also be on-site playing in the Legend's draw with the 2010 winner Francesca Schiavone. In an interview to Sky Sport, Pennetta commented on the Fabio Fognini's bad start to the season. From the Australian Open third round until now, Fognini lost six out of seven matches and he will be back at next month's Monte Carlo Masters. "Fabio is doing very well physically, he will not undergo an ankle surgery", she assured. "He got a bit lost because he did not mentally prepare well, he did not handle certain things that probably for him were already gained but it's not like this because you never stop improving on court and especially now there are not players who play bad anymore, there is never an easy first round. You have to go take every point against any player, be willing to fight, never give up and when he saw himself playing easy got relaxed, he lost two or three matches that made him get tense and start from zero."
"I will be on court at the French Open in the legends draw", added Pennetta. "There will be a lot of laughs, it will be really fun and we will be really happy. We will live it from a different perspective. For her to come back on these courts will be a unique effect, she won in 2010, a little bit like with the US Open for me. We will watch a lot of tennis! A lot has happened, I grew a lot, my life changed and I improved as a person. Me and Filippo Volandri became parents basically at the same time and we were always texting each other. It was a lot of emotions."
