Laslo Djere speaks about relationship with Novak Djokovic
In an interview to tennis.com Laslo Djere commented on his relationship with his compatriot Novak Djokovic. Djere won his maiden career-title in February at the Rio Open, and his ceremony speech left the world No. 1 stunned as well. “We have talked sometimes and we also practised at Indian Wells", said Djere. "He is a great guy and he shows not only us Serbians but everybody how hard work and dedication can pay off. He does it extremely well. He is one of the most professional not only tennis players but athletes, and a great inspiration to all of us.”
Djere added: “When we were in Indian Wells he (Djokovic) said a few things to me about me having a great tournament in Rio and giving a great speech. He said that I should continue that and told me I am on the right way. It was nice to hear that.”
In a column, the tennis player Andrea Petkovic commented on her admiration for the NBA star Dirk Nowitzki. "I am usually not impressed when I meet important people. I spend 15 weeks a year where Roger Federer plays cards in the table next to me and Rafael Nadal plays football near. I get so excited and not shy at all."
"Dirk is a good tennis player. I can hit balls with him at a normal speed. The biggest problems are when I hit balls towards his body. It seems he cannot handle the distance from the racket in a proper way. But he does not get disappointed for his mistakes, he is focused. He wants to improve a detail every day."
Petkovic feels a lot of admiration for Nowitzki: "I do not know if Germans will understand what unbelievable power image Dirk in our country for what he achieved in Germany. When I go to America, people ask me about him."
