Michael Chang Puts Up His California Home for $8 million

Tennis - Former French Open champion and World No. 2 Michael Chang, of the United States, has put up his home in California for sale with an asking price of $8 million. The house is in the private community of Coto de Caza in Orange County, California. Chang, who currently coaches Japan's Kei Nishikori, built the home in 1990 and he and his family have stayed there until recently, according to Mansion Global.

The property has a main house and a guesthouse, with over 9.5 acres and 10,200 square feet of interior space combined. The listing agent, Chris Kwon of Compass, said, "You could build another estate on the upper level. It would give you better views of the valley. Coto de Caza is an inland planned community. It’s old money—people take a lot of pride living there. We used really high-quality materials. The entire interior of the main house has been redone. It was very 1990s. Everything now is 2019 colours and trends. We redid the roof, the koi pond, the pool, and the landscaping."

The house has seven bedrooms, five full bathrooms and one partial bathroom while the guest house has two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The property also has two tennis courts, one hard court and one clay court and has just completed a year-long renovation. Chang is currently at Monte Carlo, Monaco for the Monte Carlo Masters Series event with Nishikori, whom he has been coaching for the past few years now.
