Rafael Nadal: 'I am from an island, I know how to deal with wind'

Rafael Nadal handled the wind very well on Thursday during his straight-set win over Grigor Dimitrov in Monte Carlo. The Spaniard said: "Everybody prefers to play with no wind. But being from an island like Mallorca, where we have some wind out there I’m more or less used to play like this. It’s not been an easy day. A lot of wind out there today but great feelings with this sunshine out here and playing against a good friend, great player and I wish him all the best for the season. I am happy the way that I am playing. The first two rounds I played more than well enough to win. I had two confident scores against two good players. So that's a good start for me on the clay court season."

On his next match against Guido Pella, Nadal added: "Guido’s playing great. He had some great victories here and he will be with big confidence. So I hope to be ready to keep playing well. I know it’s going to be a tough one but I’m in the quarter-finals and that’s great news after the injury. To be back on the tour and be able to play this level of tennis is great news. I am happy the way that I am playing. The first two rounds I played more than well enough to win. I had two confident scores against two good players."
