Rafael Nadal is the greatest competitor ever in tennis - Pundit
Speaking on Amazon Prime the former world No. 4 Greg Rusedski praised Rafael Nadal's fighting spirit during his straight-set win over Guido Pella. The Spaniard came back from being down 4-1 in the first set. “Rafa was a little bit short with the ball at certain times. But Pella took advantage of that. He was the one stepping up and making the shots. Mentally, so tough from Nadal. He is for me the greatest competitor of our sport ever seen - even better than Jimmy Connors", said Rusedski on Amazon Prime. "We have talked before about who would you pick to play tennis for your life. Rafael Nadal is the man. You know he is going to be there from the first ball to the last ball. He has all the weapons and he is always getting better and better. We are blessed to have a competitor like him. He is 32 years of age and still running around like a 20-year-old - how do you do that."
Daniela Hantuchova added: "Rafa is the kind of player that whenever his opponent plays great he starts to play even better. And he enjoys that. He loves the fact that his opponents are playing incredible tennis and really you can see how he tried to equal his [opponent’s] game. You don’t see that often with Novak. He gets really frustrated and it’s almost like ‘How is this happening to me?’ Roger is great, very solid. But Rafa loves the fight when his opponents are playing great tennis.”
