Toni Nadal: 'Rafael told me many times he was tired of dealing with pain'

In an interview, Toni Nadal reflected on the ability of his nephew Rafael of dealing with pain for most of his career. The 58-year-old said: "He perceived the game in a different way as he had to evolve depending on his injuries, looking for different solutions in every moment. Having to handle your career according to injuries, deserves an extra credit. You have to change training sessions, cut the time, change the preparation systems... In the end it went well. I remember that Rafael told me many times that he was tired dealing with pain. So I told him that most players would switch into him without even thinking about it twice. Difficulties are part of your life."

Toni also reflected on the important of having passion: "In the life I do not understand doing something without passion. If you play without passion, the path will be very short and you will never enjoy it. You need passion but you also have to work on it, because even if you have it, you may lose it."
