ATP Madrid: Dominic Thiem and Diego Schwartzman into doubles quarter-final

Austrian Dominic Thiem and Argentina's Diego Schwartzman have reached the Madrid Masters doubles quarter-final. 

Thiem and Schwartzman came from a set down on Thursday to stun sixth-seeded Oliver Marach and Mate Pavic 2-6 6-3 10-7. 

Marach and Pavic claimed the first break of the match in the opening game before they saved a break point in the following game. 

Marach and Pavic failed to convert any of their two break points chances in the fifth game but broke Thiem and Schwartzman in the seventh game before they served out for the opener in the following game. 

Thiem and Schwartzman then saved a total of two break points before they broke the sixth-seeded duo in the sixth game of the second set.

Thiem and Schwartzman managed to hold on to their serve as they forced a decider. 

Thiem and Schwartzman lost the opening point of the match tie-break but then won three points in a row to take a 3-1 lead. 

Thiem and Schwartzman never lost their lead as they converted their first match point to complete a big comeback win. 

Thiem and Schwartzman realized 1-of-3 of their break point chances and saved 6-of-8 of Marach and Pavic's break point opportunities in an hour and 23 minutes of play. 

Interestingly, Marach and Pavic won a total of 60 points during the match, while Thiem and Schwartzman won a total of 58 points. 

Thiem and Schwartzman play next against Guido Pella and Joao Sousa.
