Jerzy Janowicz awarded wildcard into Sopot Challenger

Former world No. 14 Jerzy Janowicz has received a wildcard into the Sopot Challenger.

The 28-year-old is attempting to make yet another comeback to tennis as he hasn't played since 2017.

The Pole last played at the Bratislava Challenger in November 2017.

Janowicz, once a promising tennis player, has had lots of problems with his knee since his breakthrough 2013 campaign.

The Pole appeared to be set for a successful comeback in 2017 but, unfortunately, fell short in his attempt.

Back then, Janowicz claimed a big win over Grigor Dimitrov to make the Stuttgart quarter-final before he reached the third round at Wimbledon.

The Pole also won a Challenger tournament, ended runner-up at another Challenger event.

The Sopot event is scheduled to be held from July 29 - August 04.

Meanwhile, 2018 Roland Garros and Wimbledon boys' singles champion Chun Hsin Tseng has also been awarded a wildcard into the Sopot Challenger.

Tseng hasn't had many success on the Challenger level this year as he has yet to make it past the second round at a Challenger this season.
