Rafael Nadal reveals his best French Open moment featuring Roger Federer

In an interview with Le Parisien, Rafael Nadal commented on his feelings in the French Open. The Spaniard said: "The first thing that comes to my mind is the Paris city. In the tournament, I think about the Central, all the people I know... But if I have to highlight an image, it's the tunnel that leads to the Philippe Chatrier stadium."

On the Philippe Chatrier stadium modernization, Nadal added: "I followed all this through those videos. Am I worried? (Laughter) I do not know. What's for sure is that the court suits me a lot. I liked it a lot. But you have to be realistic, I played very well in Monte Carlo, Barcelona, Rome as well, in many places where conditions are different than Paris. It's mainly a clay-court which I love. And it's still good that the French Open has a retractable roof."

What was the best and worst time in his French Open career? "The best may be the Decima (2017) and 2006 (the first final win over Roger Federer). The worst is 2016 (withdrawal from the third round match). More than the loss to Robin Soderling in 2009. The Soderling one was hard, bad, but the truth is that I went through a complicated time. I had a lot of knee issues and at the same time family worries (his parents split). It was hard, but the loss is part of the sport. We have to accept it. It's not the same than not being able to play. In 2016, I felt ready to win. I played well again after a difficult 2015. It could not be worse."
