Damir Dzumhur suffers injury as his season might be over
Bosnian tennis star Damir Dzumhur is set for his second injury break of the season after suffering a shoulder injury during his French Open French Open men’s doubles first round clash.
Dzumhur and Serbian partner Filip Krajinovic were forced to retire their doubles while 5-4 up against American Rajeev Ram and American Joe Salisbury as the Bosnian suffered a nasty fall on his shoulder.
Three-time ATP champion Dzumhur was forced to withdraw from several tournaments earlier this season due to injuries.
Former world No. 23 Dzumhur recently said he was targeting to have a big grass season as he was planning to play four tournaments during the upcoming grass season.
Unfortunately, that won’t be the case as the Bosnian is expected to be sidelined from four to six weeks, and in the worst case scenario, he might be forced to miss the whole season.
Speaking to Klix, Dzumhur said: “The news are bad, but I hope that my recovery will last shorter than expected and that my season isn’t fully lost.”
