Dan Evans talks upcoming match against Stan Wawrinka

British tennis player Dan Evans is ready for a tough opener at the Fever-Tree Championships as he will be aiming to clinch his first win over seventh-seeded Stan Wawrinka

Evans, 29, and 34-year-old Wawrinka will be clashing against each other for the third time in their respective careers when they meet in the Queen's first round.

Three-time Grand Slam champion Wawrinka leads the head-to-head record against Evans 2-0 but the Swiss had to fight hard to clinch those two wins.

Wawrinka lost the opening set in each of their last two encounters but both times recovered from a set down to beat the Briton at the US Open in 2016 and Indian Wells Masters this year respectively.

Evans has made a perfect start to his 2019 grass season as he has 10 wins and zero losses after winning it all at the Challenger events in Surbiton and Nottingham.

On the other side, former world No. 3 Wawrinka will play his first match on grass this year when he meets Evans.

"It is going to be great," in-form Evans told LTA of his upcoming match against Wawrinka. "I played him in Indian Wells this year and he got me so we will see if we can turn it around this time... But if not it is been a great two weeks and keep moving forward."
