Milos Raonic: Novak Djokovic is the strongest player I ever faced

In an interview with Telegraph, Milos Raonic was asked who was the strongest player he has ever faced in his career. The Canadian player said: "It might be a controversial answer, but I would say, Novak Djokovic. I joined the tour in earnest in 2011 and since then he has been consistently the most dominant player. I didn’t get to experience Roger Federer before that, or Rafael Nadal before 2010."

Asked what was his best match in career, Raonic replied: "The 2016 Wimbledon semi-final against Federer. To come back from two sets to one down was amazing, and also I don’t think he had ever lost a semi-final at Wimbledon before that. The previous two years he had beaten me straightforwardly, so that was the most significant one I have participated in and come out successful."

Asked what is the best city he has ever been in, Raonic added: "I am a huge fan of New York because the US Open is the closest thing we have as Canadians to a home grand slam. It’s close to home and the family can come down. Monaco is another favourite but in the end, I’ll have to go to London. I stay in the city for Queen’s. That’s when the art auctions are, a lot of big exhibitions and shows at the Tate and Tate Modern. Then I move down to a house near Wimbledon Common, and I’ll stay more isolated for Wimbledon itself."
