Rafa Nadal Tennis Centre in Greece is impressive, says uncle Toni
Toni Nadal was impressed by the Rafa Nadal Tennis Centre in Greece. On Friday 18-time Grand Slam winner's uncle and the former coach said: "It's definitely a special place, I am impressed. The Rafa Nadal Tennis Centre is a site where all the tennis lovers have the chance to improve in this sport. Here we coach the players with the same method that we have at the Rafa Nadal Academy in Mallorca. I was also surprised at the good level showed by younger and older guys."
Toni also spoke about the Big Three dominance: "They keep winning because the younger guys have not been good enough, but Federer, when he started playing, had already defeated 25 top ten players and I do not know how many Grand Slams semifinals he has reached. Younger guys have a lack of effort. You should change your life in many aspects. When David Ferrer didn't play well, he still won; Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, too. If things were not going too well, they were able to comeback. Now the younger guys' level drops a lot when they are nog able to play well. Big Three are totally committed and they still have the desire to win. Federer has a great easiness in playing his game. Djokovic combines defence and attack and he can place himself in a proper way on every ball. Rafael can hit difficult shots or from a bad position."
The facility features more than 400 hectares, eight clay-courts for the development of the younger guys.
Meanwhile, the two Spain's Kings, Juan Carlos and Sofia, made a private visit to the Nadal Academy in Manacor. They were welcomed by Nadal himself, his future wife Maria Francisca Perello, Rafael's parents, father Sebastian and mother Ana Maria. They made a Tour around the facility. The loyal family attends the French Open every year and Nadal has dinner with them after winning his titles.
