Roger Federer can smile and then get very serious in training, says Pouille

In an interview with L'Equipe, Lucas Pouille commented on his training sessions with Roger Federer in Dubai. The Frenchman said: "In training, he can smile between two points and then focus on the following point: he is very serious and he always does things deeply but he is always in a good mood. He tries so badly that he is able to even make unforced errors by four meters. Sometimes it's shocking the way he hits SABR."

On his loss to Martin Klizan at the French Open, Pouille said: "I won the set and I broke back. I led 5-3 and what happened is that I was broken back at 5-4. As I said, he had a beautiful game. He played two winning backhands. Between the restart and the end of the match, it was the only two backhand winners he played. And then we were 5-all, no tiebreak, and it was one point here or there. And the 7-All I was leading 15-Love, I missed 15-30, and then I miss and I didn't make him play and then it seemed he misses after the serve. But after we came back, it was better than yesterday."

In an interview, former American skier Lindsay Vonn commented on Roger Federer's work ethic. Vonn, who is a fan and friend of the Swiss, said: "Roger likes tennis and working hard, he is a very humble champion instead of some athletes. I want to be like him."

Federer will play his next tournament at the Cincinnati Open in August.
