Roger Federer is one of the easiest guys to work with, says Edberg

In an interview, the six-time Major winner Stefan Edberg recalled his co-operation with Roger Federer in 2014 and 2015. The former Swedish player said: "I was very surprised when he called me because I was out of the Tour for quite some time and coaching on the Tour is something I never really thought of. We spent some time in Dubai working together and it was an easy one. He is very easy and he was one of the easiest guys to work with. If I played on the Tour today, I would not serve and volley like I used to because it may not work today. It takes a lot of skills. The game is very quick and the guys return very well."

On how the game has evolved since his playing days, Edberg added: "It definitely has changed, the game has got better, there's no question about it. There is a great generation of players today, it's very competitive, physical, so it's tough being there but there are a lot of great crowds, tournaments are growing, become a lot bigger, a lot of fans are out there. It's different today but the game has definitely grown than when I used to play."

Meanwhile, Federer said: "One thing I always tried to do is question myself. Even in the best of times when I was hardly losing any matches, and also when you are playing bad or things are bad, you always question yourself. Am I good enough, what do I need to do. But when you are winning and things are going well, you sometimes tend to forget that. That's the best time to question yourself, that for me was instrumental in my career."
