Rafael Nadal is playing better than Djokovic and Federer, says Schwartzman
In an interview with ESPN, Diego Schwartzman spoke about how Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic have played in the US Open so far. The Swiss dropped two sets, while the Serb and the Spaniard went through in straights although the Belgrade native is dealing with a shoulder injury. "I saw a lot of the Big Three, I think they are still at the beginning, Roger got most difficulties, while Londero was so close to take a set against Djokovic. Juan Ignacio is playing so well. For me, it's luck to face them. Nole is the world No. 1, he makes a difference in the key moments and Rafa is the best now out of the three. Then we will see, in the second week everything can change."
On his run, Schwartzman, who defeated Egor Gerasimov and Robin Haase in the first two rounds, said: "I cannot complain about my draw, in the first round I was able to win quickly and feeling comfortable. I will have a tough match next, Tennys Sandgren, but I am aware that I can keep going if I play well."
Schwartzman feels very confident: "I think I improve a lot of things. I have a lot of confidence inside the court. In the Grand Slams, also, I like to play five sets. I like to win on the court, trying to have many chances in the long matches."
Schwartzman knows how it feels to go far at the US Open as he reached the quarter-finals here two years ago losing to Pablo Carreno Busta.
