Japan Open organizers announce three wildcard winners

Rising Japanese star Yoshihito Nishioka, world No. 127 Taro Daniel and 129th-ranked Yuichi Sugita have all been granted a wildcard into the Japan Open in Tokyo

Nishioka, ranked at No. 60 in the world, is set to make his fourth appearance on the indoor-hard courts of Tokyo.

The 23-year-old will be aiming to finally earn his maiden Tokyo win in front of his home fans as he picked up first round exits at the tournament in 2015, 2016 and 2018.

Nishioka, who achieved a career-high ranking of No. 58 in the world in 2017, recently put up a stunning run at the Cincinnati Masters as he made the quarterfinal as a qualifier, before he was forced to pull out from his match against David Goffin.

Daniel, 26, will be making his fifth main draw at the Japan Open when the tournament kicks off next week.

Former world No. 64 Daniel will also be searching for his maiden Tokyo win next week as his previous four campaigns at the tournament ended with a first round loss.

Sugita, 31, is set to make his seventh appearance at the Japan Open as he will also be aiming to collect his maiden win at the tournament.
