Raymond, the Laver Cup driver who got close to Federer, Tsitsipas and more
The 70 limousines for the Laver Cup in front of the players' hotel that goes to the Palexpo Arena and airport were one of the best things about this year's event in Geneva. One of the 110 drivers were Raymond. The Swede who loves playing tennis and his nephew is the female player Jacqueline Cabaj. He works for Geneva VIP Activities SA. "The whole environment is just amazing", he told Blick "I see closely stars, coaches, wifes and legends and I even easily speak with them."
During a trip with Federer's parents, Lynette and Robert, he spoke with them about the electric car. He also spent time with Federer's coach Ivan Ljubicic. "He is so nice, very open and by far the funniest out of everyone", he said. "I think Ljubicic and his wife really enjoyed their stay."
He also brought Mirka to the venue. "We spoke with her about the kids, their sports activities, hobbies, something like that, just in general."
He was Rod Laver's driver on the way to the Gala dinner on Thursday night. "A old gentleman, very nice and friendly."
Raymond was impressed by John Isner who is 2.06 meters tall. "Wow, he is big! I am 1.85 meters tall and I still have to look at the top."
On Stefanos Tsitsipas, Raymond revealed the Greek signed three autographs from his car while they were at a red light.
On Bjorn Borg, he added: "As a Swede, obviously, he was my biggest idol!"
