Guido Pella pulls out of Paris Masters
Argentina's Guido Pella, 29, won't be making his second main draw appearance at the Paris Masters after withdrawing from the last Masters 1000 event of the season just a day before the start of the tournament.
Playing four tournaments in as many weeks has come at a price for the Argentinian, who had been hoping to finish his breakthrough season on the Tour with a strong campaign in Paris.
The 29-year-old didn't impress in his Paris debut three years ago as he was handed a straight-set defeat by American Steve Johnson in their first round clash at Bercy.
Pella tried to make the Paris main draw in 2017 and 2018 through the qualifying event but failed to do so as he lost his qualifying openers on both occasions.
Pella, who is enjoying a career-high ranking of No. 20 in the world, had been drawn to meet a qualifier in his Paris opener but instead it will be a lucky loser who will take the 29-year-old's spot in the main draw.
