Roger Federer: 'Winning 20 Slams is as tough as handling four children'
Roger Federer is releasing a lot of interviews this week in South America. The Swiss is looking forward to facing Alexander Zverev in an exhibition match in Buenos Aires on Wednesday. "I knew a lot the Argentinean football and the truth is that I did not think that tennis would be the same", admitted the world No. 3 who already competed in the country back in 2012.
"The key to staying competitive at 38 years is to be healthy, happy, handle your life. It's about being strong mentally and knowing when to stop and rest. Luckily I have a great team behind me", said Federer who spoke about the basketball star Michael Jordan as the athlete he admires the most outside tennis. What's tougher: winning 20 Grand Slam or traveling with four children? "Both things are difficult."
Stefanos Tsitsipas' coach Patrick Mouratoglou believes there is a thing that combines Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic and now also the Greek player. The Frenchman said: "If you think of the champions like the Big Three, they are all in their own world. Stefanos is in his own world, he is different, he expresses what he feels, he is not trying to be politically correct. You show people who you are. Nobody is perfect. He is able to express his own personality and I love that." Marcos Baghdatis said: "It's something extraordinary. He is a special kid, different than other people, he analyzes the game very close to Roger Federer who is the best player. The kid is a genius from my side."
