Bob Bryan praises Laver Cup founded by Roger Federer

In an interview to El Tiempo Bob Bryan spoke about the difference between singles and doubles in terms of popularity. He said: "One of our biggest achievements was to make doubles more important with our career. It's clear that we are not as popular as the singles guys and we accept it. Now you have to look that there is more coverage on TV, more matches are broadcasted. Another opportunity to have a bigger coverage is in tournaments like the Davis Cup and Laver Cup, where there are big singles players competing in the doubles and it's also decisive points for the tournament. They are taking us more seriously."

Mike spoke about how they will face their last year on the professional tour: "Like we did all years. I can just thank the fans. People support us and we can just have to deliver our best tennis. We want to end up strong and be successful and try to be one of the best teams in the world.

Rafael Nadal won five Davis Cup titles in 2004, 2008, 2009, 2011 and 2019. The last one happened at the Davis Cup Finals in Madrid. He won all the eight matches he played in, including five singles and three doubles. His trophy replica and a shirt signed by the entire Spanish team is now in his Museum. Nadal only lost a Davis Cup singles match against Jiri Novak in the first round when he was 17 years old. Rafa has won the last 29 matches he played.
