Grigor Dimitrov Would Like to be an Example to All Children

Tennis - Former World No. 3 Grigor Dimitrov has sent a special message to his fans ahead of the ATP Cup, the new ATP event which is being held for the first time in January 2020 in three cities in Australia.

According to TennisKafe, the ATP Cup tournament featured a video of the Bulgarian star on their Twitter profile. In the video, Dimitrov says, "From a very young age, I was very dedicated. When I was 10 or 11 years old, I realized that this was what I was meant to do. The thing I want to do. I think my family raised me in a very good way. Parents are my great support. I was not pretentious - I just needed a tennis court and a strong rackets to be happy. When I made the break-in Tura, I was not ready either physically or mentally. It wasn't until I achieved some big wins that I started to have respect for my opponents, for the game, for myself. I'm a tennis player, but first of all, I want to set an example for families, and especially their children, so that they can achieve anything, no matter where they are from. All you need is hard work and your will to be in the right place."

Bulgaria are placed in Group C, alongside the United Kingdom, Belgium and Moldova. Besides Dimitrov, who will be the playing captain, the Bulgarian team also includes Dimitar Kuzmanov, Alexander Lazarov, Alexander Donski and Adrian Andreev.

Dimitrov ended the 2019 season strongly, reaching the semi-finals of the US Open and the Paris Masters, climbing from outside the Top 70 to finish the season as World No. 20.
