Investing in Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic is tough for Buenos Aires

Martin Hughes of Tennium company spoke about the Argentina Open in Buenos Aires. Hughes is satisfied with the 2020 line-up that will be headlined by Dominic Thiem, Diego Schwartzman and Matteo Berrettini. Hughes said: "We always are in a consistent touch with the players. There is a good tennis level. It would be good to have (Roger) Federer, (Rafa) Nadal or (Novak) Djokovic, but it's difficult to invest in those players. Even if there can always be a surprise."
Martin Jaite said: "When we started in 2001 we dreamed to be around for many years but we never imagined they would be so much. We do not realize what it means to run a tournament for 20 years. For me, it's an ATP 500 from every point of view. We cannot deal with Europe since the economical power is bigger and the players are closer there because the distances are less bigger. But our tournament is so historical and everyone likes to come here."
Recalling his 1989 French Open win, Michael Chang said: “My game was actually suited very well to play on clay – I just didn’t know how to play on it. Once I understood the court movement, the footing, the ball’s reaction to the court, what shots may be more effective on clay versus a hard court or grass, it was a whole new ball game. I started to realise: ‘Wow, it’s a lot easier to cover shots on clay than on any other surface.’ As long as I understood the footing, with the balls being a little bit slower, I had a bit more time. It was really a perfect surface for me.”
