Australian Captain Lleyton Hewitt happy with his team for Brazil tie

Australian Davis Cup Team Captain Lleyton Hewitt was happy that all of his players were available for the upcoming Davis Cup qualifying round tie against Brazil. 

Former world No. 1 Hewitt nominated Nick Kyrgios, Alex de Minaur, Jordan Thompson and James Duckworth as the Australians will secure a spot in the Davis Cup Finals for the second consecutive year if they beat Brazil in Adelaide from March 06-07.

"We’re pleased we can field such a strong team for the Davis Cup tie against Brazil especially with Alex de Minaur back to full health after his injury during the summer,” Hewitt said, per Tennis Australia.

“Nick Kyrgios, John Millman and Jordan Thompson have shown over the past couple of months they are competitive with the top players and it’s great to see them continue to produce results."

After making his maiden ATP semifinal in Pune, world No. 83 Duckworth stayed in India for one more week and won it all at the Bangalore Challenger. 

Hewitt thinks that former world No. 71 Duckworth deserved to be nominated for the Brazil tie as he said: "And we’re delighted to select James Duckworth as part of this team. Ducks has had a long, hard road but his form in recent weeks and in the past 12 months has been impressive.

“We couldn’t be happier to give him this opportunity he’s worked so hard for.”
