Rafael Nadal becomes partner at Mabel Capital investment firm

The 19-time Major champion and world no. 2 has made a couple of significant business steps in 2020, opening his second Rafa Nadal Academy in Kuwait and seeking every other opportunity to invest his fortune. It came at Mabel Capital, a private capital investment firm owned by Abel Matutes Prats and Manuel Campos Guallar, with Nadal becoming a full partner at the beginning of the year when he bought a third of the company. Found in Madrid, Mabel Capital has offices in Madrid, Ibiza, Marbella, Lisbon, London, Miami, Los Angeles and Philadelphia, focused on investing and diversifying its capital throughout Real Estate, Finance, Hospitality, Media, Sports, Music and other areas.

In the past, Rafael Nadal had cooperated with Mabel Capital on several projects, including the restoration chain Tatel and Zela, becoming a full partner and getting the opportunity to make decisions and be involved in the future projects. Manuel Campos Guallar remains the CEO for at least another year, although the firm plans to create an advisory board soon. Rafael Nadal is one of the wealthiest athletes in the world of tennis, winning 19 Majors and 35 Masters 1000 crowns in the last 15 years and signing deals with Banco Santander, Telefonica, Cantabria Labs, Kia, Nike Babolat, Mapfre and Richard Mille.

The Spaniard is a proud owner of 12 Roland Garros crowns and four at the US Open, two at Wimbledon and one at the Australian Open, completing a Career Grand Slam at the age of 24 and earning many records en route on becoming one of the greatest players of all time. Finishing the previous season as world no. 1 for the fifth time in a career, Nadal has stayed on Roger Federer's trail following titles at Roland Garros and the US Open, standing one Major behind the Swiss and hoping to catch him in Paris in four months.
