Bianca Andreescu: "I'm addicted to Netflix"
The problems continue for the young Canadian tennis player Bianca Andreescu. The winner of the Us Open 2019 is experiencing a real ordeal and her last match dates back to the WTA Finals of the very distant 30th October where she faced Karolina Pliskova and had a problem in the third game of the first set.
Andreescu is the reigning champion at the US Open and the Canadian Open, having defeated Serena Williams to win both titles. She is the first Canadian tennis player to win a Grand Slam singles title, and the first to win the Canadian Open in 50 years. She is also the first player to win a Grand Slam singles title as a teenager since Maria Sharapova in 2006.
The US Open champion hinted at a possible return on Tour at the Miami Open: “I’m addicted to Netflix, I don’t think that’s a good thing. That’s the best therapy for me. I’m just taking it day by day, doing better and better as the days go on. I’m very pleased about that. I’ve been doing a lot of rehab on my knee, a lot of strengthening. Right now I’m hoping to play Miami Open" - The Canadian said in an interview with PEOPLE magazine.
Andreescu also spoke about the Olympics: "I’m really looking forward to the Olympics this year, 100%. I remember when I was 12 years old. I remember watching that 2012 Olympics and telling my mom, ‘I want to be there.’ And I have a really good chance this year so I’m super excited,” she added. “I’ve heard from athletes who’ve played them over the years and they say it’s one of the best experiences of their lives so that’s definitely a goal of mine. Obviously not just participating in it, but getting that gold medal would be something incredible.”
