Bruno Soares: I ran few businesses, I have work outside tennis
Brazilian doubles star Bruno Soares reveals he owns a few businesses so that's keeping him busy during the Tour suspension.
The ATP suspended the Tour on March 12 and there won't be any events until at least July 13.
The majority of players are on the risk of facing financial struggles during the Tour suspension.
Soares, 38, should be just fine as he has earned just less than six million in his career.
The Brazilian is a 32-time ATP doubles champion and former doubles world No. 2.
"I’m a little bit of a veteran. I do have a few businesses of my own that I’m working on. Like most businesses, they are suffering with the crisis, so trying to manage that," Soares told TENNIS.com. "I’ve always enjoyed having this. It’s not an easy time, but it’s been keeping me busy and keeping my mind working. If the tour is back, or cancelled for the rest of the year, I have work outside of tennis."
Soares, now ranked at No. 25 on the doubles list, didn't have a great start to the season.
Soares and his Croatian partner Mate Pavic struggled with their form as they were just 4/5 before the Tour got suspended.
Soares and Pavic made the quarterfinals in Doha and Rio de Janeiro, while they made the round-of-16 at the Australian Open, Auckland and Dubai.
Soares and Pavic, who debuted as a pair at the Queen's Club last June, won their maiden team title at the Shanghai Masters in October.
