Spanish Tennis Federation plans six domestic events for top-100 players
The Spanish Tennis Federation is reportedly planning to create six domestic tournaments for Spanish players ranked inside the top-100.
On April 1, the ATP, WTA and ITF extended the suspension of the tours until at least July 13 due to the coronavirus outbreak.
There hasn't been any tennis for a month and a half and many doubt the season will resume once the current suspension expires.
Players have been left without a chance to compete and earn money during the Tour suspension.
But the Spanish Tennis Federation has a plan how to help its players.
Spain has eight players ranked inside the top-100 on the ATP rankings list and four players ranked inside the top-100 on the WTA list.

The Spanish Tennis Federation didn't forget about its players ranked outside the top-100 as the plan is to host 12 more tournaments for players ranked between 100-500.

Spain is one of the most successful tennis nations and they have a number of players ranked between 100 to 500.
It remains to be seen if all top players from Spain would be interested in playing the domestic competition.
The biggest name would certainly be 19-time Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal, who is ranked at No. 2 in the world.
