Fabio Fognini: Novak Djokovic can overcome Roger Federer's Grand Slam record
Italy's Fabio Fognini absolutely believes world No. 1 Novak Djokovic is capable of overcoming Roger Federer's all-time Grand Slam record.
Federer, 38, has won 20 Grand Slam titles over the course of his career, while 33-year-old Djokovic owns 17 Majors in his collection.
Federer blew a great chance to capture his 21nd Grand Slam title last Wimbledon as Djokovic saved two consecutive championship points in the final to edge out the Swiss.
Djokovic, who claimed a record eighth Australian Open title tearlier his year, handed a straight-set defeat to Federer in the semifinal.
"We had a good chat with Nole. I also asked him about meditation, maybe it might come in handy," Fognini said.
"Djokovic and I have known each other since we were 14 and it was already clear that he would do great things. He already had an iron character. We speak often. I believe he will be able to overcome Federer's 20. Among the Big 3 he is the one who can overcome most of all, for the head, the body, the hunger he has."
