John Millman on ways he is using to stay fit during coronavirus pandemic

Australian tennis star John Millman admits he isn't used to being much at home but says self isolating in Brisbane has been going well so far for him.

The Tour has been suspended since March 12 due to the coronavirus outbreak and the players will have to wait until at least Juky 13 to return to the circuit.

"Obviously unprecedented times has created this opportunity for players to spend a little bit more time at home than what they normally would. It’s a little bit different, but I’ve gotten used to the home life now and things aren’t going too bad here," Millman told Tennis Australia.

World No. 43 Millman's style of play demands an exceptional physical condition and the 30-year-old Australian has been training hard during the Tour suspension.

"I’ve got the home gym set up and I’ve got every app under the sun with the indoor training bikes. I’m connecting with a few of the Aussie players who also have those apps and just trying to stay fit,” Millman said.

“A big part of my game is the physicality that I bring to the court, so I don’t want to lose that and it’s quite easy to do so when you’re spending a fair bit of time away from the day-in, day-out grind of the tennis tour."

Millman, a former world No. 33, was on a three-match losing streak before he won back-to-back Davis Cup matches for Australia against Brazil just before the Tour suspension.

Millman was on the verge of shocking Roger Federer at the Australian Open but the Swiss won the fifth set tie-breaker to survive a difficult third round meeting against the Australian.
