Dominic Thiem speaks highly of Adria Tour, Novak Djokovic

World No. 3 Dominic Thiem is a fan of the Adria Tour project and he has gladly accepted to appear at the event.

Novak Djokovic, ranked at No. 1 in the world, reveals his plans to host the Adria Tour from June 13 - July 5.

The Adria Tour will take place across four Balkan countries and the money raised will be donated.

"I think that a very important and good idea is that the Adria Tour is a humanitarian event. There are many people, but also organizations, who need help, especially in difficult times like this. As far as I am concerned, I am participating in an important project in Austria, and I hope that we will raise as much money as possible, so that I can continue to support and help them," Thiem said, per Sport Klub.

Thiem, who was beaten in a five-set Australian Open final earlier this year, has nothing but good to say of Djokovic.

"It is clear that Novak is not only one of the best tennis players in the world of all time, but he is also one of the best athletes on the planet ever. We have a very good relationship on and off the court. Djokovic is one of the guys I usually meet on the ATP tour. We’ve played some great matches, like the Grand Slam finals, the Masters 1000, the ATP Finals, and it’s always an exceptional experience when I meet him. Privately, Novak is a great guy, but I don’t know him well enough. So I hope that during the Adria tour we will have the opportunity to get to know each other better," Thiem said.

Dominic Thiem set to see Serbia for the first time

"Unbelievable, but I have never been to Serbia before. I don't know why this is so, because you have a lot of junior tournaments, and I've heard a lot of great things about the country. Therefore, it is unusual that I did not come earlier, but here, that is an additional reason why I made the decision to participate in this event very easily. I am looking forward to coming to Serbia, to Belgrade, and I want to know more about your country," Thiem added.

Dominic Thiem will likely play against  17-time Grand Slam champion Djokovic in the capital city of Serbia, Belgrade.
