Kiki Bertens writes a book 'Tenns with Kiki' for charity

Dutchwoman Kiki Bertens, ranked No. 7 in the world, has worked on a book during the recent months of the tennis shutdown, through which she aims to inspire children.

The World No. 7 Bertens has written a book called 'Tennis met Kiki (Tennis with Kiki), a book aimed at inspiring children to take up the sport and play the sport. Bertens has worked on the project along with writer René van Hattum and the KNLTB (Royal Dutch Lawn Tennis Association). On her social media account, Bertens says, "Very proud to be able to share this with you. I hope that this will make even more children enthusiastic about this beautiful sport. Because tennis is for everyone!"

The book tells readers how Bertens became the highest-ranked Dutchwoman in WTA history, provides young tennis players with tips for training and playing competitive events. 28 year old Bertens also shares her own experiences from tournaments that she has competed in during her career -  including the Grand Slam events and the Olympics. The book will be available online and in Dutch bookstores from 24 June. Proceeds from the book will go to the Youth Fund for Sports and Culture and will help young tennis players.

Kiki Bertens' highest WTA singles ranking is No. 4, which she reached in May 2019, to become the highest ranked Dutch female player ever. She has also peaked at No. 16 in the world doubles rankings. So far, she has won 10 singles titles and 10 doubles titles on the WTA Tour. Her biggest titles have come at the 2018 Western & Southern Open and 2019 Mutua Madrid Open in singles. She has reached the semi-finals of the French Open in 2016 and the quarter-finals at Wimbledon in 2018 in singles. In doubles, she has reached the quarter-finals at the Australian Open in 2015, the French Open in 2016 and the finals of the WTA Tour Finals in 2017. She also reached the semi-finals of the season-ending WTA Tour Finals in 2018. Prior to the shutdown, she won the St. Petersburg Open title in February. Bertens married her physiotherapist Remko de Rijke in November last year. She has won over $11 million in career prize money in her career so far.
